As a group the Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation has made many contributions to preserving the intangible cultural heritage of the town and of the region; in addition, individual members of the foundation Board of Directors have been recognized for their contributions.

Agnes Butler presented with

Agnes Butler has received recognition for her contribution to the community. In 2014, the Town of Bay Roberts named her Volunteer of the Year (Christine Bussey Award). In 2013 she was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. She is a spirited, energetic and caring individual who is passionate about people, her community and her province. No task or activity is ever too much for her, and you can be assured that all will be completed with style and perfection. Ms. Butler has, in the past, served as Scout leader and member of the Bay Roberts Town Council. Currently, she serves as a Klondyke Days organizer, member of the Bay Roberts Tourism Committee and the town’s Cleaner and Greener Committee. As a Charter member of the Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation, she serves as an active member of its Board of Directors and its Program Committee. Ms. Butler has and continues to make great contributions to maintaining our heritage.

Marilyn Dawe was nominated for the award for her work with the Historic Sites and the Museum Association.
For over 35 years Marilyn has worked in the heritage field and was key in the preservation and presentation of both provincial and national historic sites (in St. John's, Brigus, Placentia, Heart's Content, Trinity, Bonavista, Port au Choix and Red Bay). As a volunteer with the Provincial Museums Association and other heritage groups she provided leadership to over 100 community heritage organizations.
Since retiring she has continued with community work. She has been active in the Conception Bay North Figure Skating Club. She is on the Board of Directors of the Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation, and a member of the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Bay Roberts Town Council.

Edmund Dawson was awarded a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal for his community service. Mr. Dawson is an outstanding citizen of the global community, whose steadfast values exemplifies his efforts to preserve our cultural heritage, and to daily make a meaningful contribution toward the improvement of the quality of life for others. Mr. Dawson displays his caring attitude through his annual Client Appreciation Event, at which time, he conducts food bank collections and matches client donations to a variety of charitable organizations throughout the province. He assists local schools with their fund raising events by purchasing and donating as prizes, seats at Mile One events. His caring for others is further exemplified through his continuous support for missions to Guatemala. Currently, in his attempt to preserve and promote our past history and culture, Mr. Dawson as a founding member of the Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation, serves as a Director. In addition, he is a major organizer and supporter of local and provincial level Heritage Fairs. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and is active in his local church parish, serving on various committees.

Ron Delany was recognized for 20 years with the Town of Bay Roberts. Ron's vision has led to so many memorable events in the town. The Klondyke Concerts were attended by 1000s from all over the province and visitors from outside. When the large outdoor concerts with expensive imported entertainment were no longer viable, Ron developed a new vision for the town.
Now there are events for every season in Bay Roberts including: Winter Carnival, Easter, the "Songs, Stages, and Seafood Festival," "Klondyke Days" and weekly summer walking tours at various scenic and historic locations in town; "Fall in Love with Bay Roberts" including the "Pumpkin Fest" and "Lantern Tours," and the Christmas "Festival of Lights."
Not only does he organize, he frequently cooks and sings at Cultural Foundation Events! Evenyone looks forward to his mussels and toutons, and his singing voice!

The Foundation was delighted when the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation announced that Ted Russell had been named a Person of Provincial Significance. Because Ted Russell was born in Bay Roberts the Cultural Foundation nominated him for the honour. Clarence Mercer, as Chair of the BRCF, accepted the plaque outlining the designation at a ceremony at The Rooms in St. John's on June 8, 2011. The money received with the award was used to fund the first year of theTed Russell Legacy Activity at Ascension Collegiate
